Weekly Update: Great American Recap, Brooks South RSVP, and an Important Parking Change
WEEKLY UPDATE · OCTOBER 5-11, 2026
Great American is officially in the books, and we’re proud of the way our athletes showed up and competed, both for TATC and for their school teams!
We have a few important updates for the week ahead, including some changes to this week’s training schedule, the RSVP for Brooks South, and an important update on how to access the back parking lot.
We’ve also included the full cross country and indoor calendars again below so families can continue planning ahead.
RACE RECAP: GREAT AMERICAN XC FESTIVAL
Friday was all about our middle school athletes, who took on WakeMed Soccer Park representing Total Athlete Track Club at the Great American XC Festival. Then on Saturday, nine of our high school athletes were back on the same course, this time representing their school teams in the varsity races.
We’re proud of every one of them and loved getting to see so many of our TATC athletes compete across both days!
Raced for Total Athlete Track Club on Friday:
Russ, Willie, Rhett S., Zairalys, and Raelyn
Raced for their schools on Saturday:
Stella, Scarlett, Brinn, Sophia, Daniel, Turner, Camic, Torris, and Eli
PARKING LOT REMINDER
A quick but important note for anyone driving on the property: the hill at the back is off-limits. Please do not drive up or down it in either direction.
To reach the back parking lot, vehicles must use the Cooks Ln entrance off Buffalo Lakes Rd.
We know this adds a few extra minutes to drop-off and pickup, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.
Need help? Email coachruss@tatrackclub.com or info@tatrackclub.com, message us on Band, or give us a call (910) 246- 8638. We are happy to help you through it.
BROOKS SOUTH XC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Brooks South is Saturday, November 28 at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, NC. The meet is open to athletes from 10U through varsity and brings together one of the most competitive fields our athletes will see this season.
Registration for Brooks South works a little differently than most of our meets, so we need to get an approximate number of interested athletes well in advance to make sure everyone is registered. If your athlete is interested in competing, please complete the RSVP below.
There is also an Open/Masters 5K for adults. If you’re a parent or other adult interested in racing, please RSVP using the link below.
